Hi, I'm Fabian, a software engineer. Most of my career has been on the JVM: designing backend systems with Java and Spring, and caring a lot about testing. I've written about virtual threads, integration testing with Testcontainers and the newest Java releases, and I spoke about Testcontainers at the Java User Group Switzerland.

Lately most of my curiosity goes into AI coding agents. I use them every day, at work and in side projects, and I'm interested less in demos than in the unglamorous parts: instructions that hold up, guardrails a script can enforce, feedback loops that let an agent check its own work, and staying the owner of code I didn't type myself.

This site is where I write down what I learn. Longer pieces end up as articles, quick ones as notes, and my current setup lives on the agentic engineering page.
